Just a few hours after offering my congratulations to the B2B magazines that picked up nominations for ASBPE's Magazine of the Year awards, I find it's time to pat a few more folks on the back.
Trade, Association and Business Publications International, known as TABPI, has announced the winners of its 2006 Tabbie Awards.
Take a look at the complete list of winners here. And note that many of the publications that picked up a Tabbie -- Computerworld, Builder, CIO Decisions, etc. -- are also finalists for ASBPE's awards.

ReplyDeleteMy boss and editor-in-chief of Tobacco Reporter magazine, Taco Tuinstra, grabbed one of the gold awards for feature writing. He won’t ever brag about his accomplishments, and he’s in Taiwan right now anyway, so I’ll do it on his behalf.
You’ll get to see us both at the ASBPE conference in Chicago, as we managed to wrangle some funds out of our employer to attend. Looking forward to seeing you at the blogging session.
On a side note, did you see Tony Silber’s latest editor’s note where you are mentioned?

“And then there are Paul Conley and David Shaw. Both focus on b-to-b media and both are excellent bloggers, but they’re way too infrequent,” Silber says.
I suppose you could take infrequency complaint as a compliment, i.e. readers actually read your stuff and want to see more.

As for the note from Tony -- I hadn't seen that yet. Thanks for pointing it out.
You're right -- I'll take what he said as a compliment. I'm flattered that Tony is a reader. And I'm glad to hear he'd like to see more.
Also, his criticism is valid. A look at my Blogger dashboard shows that I've published an average of 17 posts a month since I launched this blog. That's a pretty decent frequency, I think. But my production schedule slipped considerably as the birth of my baby approached. Now that she's arrived safe and sound, I have to make an effort to publish more frequently.
